Pre-Winter in Maine

Yes, it’s another season. We’ve got several here in ME…mud season, black fly season, you get the idea.

Last week, I followed my bestie down a random back road and found this little spot. I know it might look desolate to some, but I find this landscape absolutely beautiful. In central Maine all the leaves have fallen from the trees, and we’ll be blessed with rare views of bare forest from now until the snow comes. It could happen anytime, so I intend to enjoy these vistas until it does!

The landscape reminds me of the desert, all blue skies above russet tones, the water cutting through in beautiful relief.

It’s a reminder to stop, take a breath, and just enjoy the view.
